Frequently Asked Questions

What do Cub Scouts do?

Explore the outdoors, make new friends & learn skills that last a lifetime. From camping and hiking to building confidence and learning responsibility; Cub Scouts is where character and fun come together. Discover the fun of teamwork and the thrill of adventure.

Scouts work through each of their grade-specific ranks and earn belt loops and pins to wear on their uniform. Each rank has required and elective adventures, many of which will be completed at the meetings and on outings with the Pack. Scouts may also earn belt loops at home with their families.

Are girls allowed?

Absolutely! Pack 75 welcomes boys and girls from kindergarten through 5th grade.

What is the time commitment?

Pack 75 meets weekly on Monday nights from 6:30 to 7:30. There is usually one optional weekend event each month, and there is a 2-night campout each fall and spring.

Can I drop my child off?

Cub Scouts is a family-oriented program. Parents or guardians should be prepared to participate in activities and go on these adventures with their child. For younger scouts (kindergarten and first grade), parents are directly involved in their Childs individual achievements and participate with them during meetings.

Are meetings mandatory?

Dens work toward their required adventures during the weekly meetings. While attending every meeting is not required, the Scouts will have more opportunity to earn belt loops and awards when they attend the meetings and outings.

How much does it cost?

In order to become a member of Scouting America, you must register your child online. The national registration fee is $150 per scout/per year. Each pack is completely self-funded and nonprofit; this requires us to charge pack “dues” which are used to pay for activities, supplies, awards, excursions, etc.  Pack dues are separate from the national registration and are paid directly to Pack 75 twice a year for a total of $100 per scout. There is also an annual fundraising offset in the amount of $60 that is due during our popcorn sales season. (The offset and Pack dues can be waived if individual Popcorn sales goals are met by your scout).
